Wikipedia Research (Scientific Articles and Strategy)

Researching Wikipedia was a way for me to:

  1. Support the project through showing knowledge gaps through findings and tools based on them.
  2. Encourage multilingualism and multilcultural knowledge creation across languages.
  3. Being part of a global community that strives to make a difference by making knowledge available to everyone.

Being a researcher was a way to support the project. I was also a member of the Catalan community and I took part in the global Strategy Process 2030.

Here some of the papers I have published about Wikipedia. I believe these are a good.

    • This is a book chapter that explains the state of multilingualism and cultural diversity in Wikipedia – I refer to other publications I made on the topic.
    • This is a paper that explains the strategy process we followed to create a set of recommendations for the Wikimedia Movement.
    • I honestly believe it is a quite boring read. From the perspective of a non-Wikipedian or non-scholar, I think Chapter 3 can be interesting, since it explains Wikipedia. Overall, the research papers that directly or indirectly derived from that work were much better.
